SUMMARY: Reporting to the US Photo Studio Manager, this collaborative position will work closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, Design, Creative, and IT Departments to define and oversee all processes, procedures and outputs for a fast paced, high volume, multi-brand global photo studio. This position will work alongside the Digital Asset Coordinator, helping to orchestrate all files through the post-production pipeline from capture to upload/delivery. The Post Production Manager will function as an in-house retoucher for custom requests, while managing the outsourcing of all batch retouching jobs. This position will support the planning, organization, creation, coordination and management of in-house seasonal product shoots for all Boardriders brands. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, have great time management and be detail oriented. This role is located in Huntington Beach, CA, USA.
Responsible for leading the overall implementation and workflow of digital assets and retouching for a global studio across 7 brands
Maintaining clean/organized archives + accurate naming conventions for the Boardriders organization
Building a strong digital infrastructure for the studio, capable of processing upwards of 1000 images per day
Ensure quality photo assets are delivered on time to meet post-production deadlines
Manage the digital asset system and process end-to-end; responsible for file hand off, logging image deliveries, uploading of assets, file naming, asset sharing, and missing image retrieval.
Act as the primary liaison point for brands to facilitate image retrieval, FTP uploads, retouching requests, processing, archiving and distribution of assets.
Familiarize with all brands image requirements, along with specific FTP upload requirements
Ensure US Studio image requirements are aligned with Europe and Australia sister studios Communicate to Europe and Australia sister studios when changes are made to US requirements
Collect and communicate notes made on-set during shoot, work with Digital Asset Coordinator to c
reate clear and specific retouching, cropping, and resizing instructions for our 3rd party vendor
Reviewing shot lists for custom retouching requests to be handled in-house
Retouch all in-house custom photo shop requests for brands such as colorway changes, pattern changes, logo removal, graphic placement/replacement, skin clean up, design changes to product
Ensuring brands provide all necessary assets for outsourcing custom retouching requests: i.e. swatches, visual refs, mark ups. Collaborate with Digital Asset Coordinator + Studio Manager to craft a smooth request workflow for all retouching requests, tracking all requests via the task management platform, ClickUp
Collaborate with brands to create a QC workflow to ensure all images are approved before upload
Act as QC for all deliverables returned by 3rd party vendor, before upload to FTP
Work closely with IT teams to investigate/trouble shoot upload issues with various upload platforms
Communicate with the Photo Studio Manager, photographers, and other production team members to assist in day-to-day problem solving
Help ensure the photo studio is organized, maintained, and is a productive work space Help ensure in-house photo equipment is maintained and secure
Educate, train and promote the use of the digital asset management system and processes throughout the wider business
Minimum of 3-5 years experience working as a retoucher for ecomm, beauty, or product photography Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience as an image asset manager, and/or experience in a commercial studio photography environment
High school diploma required; college degree in Visual Arts, Marketing or equivalent preferred
Ability to follow defined processes accurately and consistently
Proven project management and time management expertise and experience
Ability to adapt quickly to schedule changes whilst maintaining productivity
Knowledge and understanding of MS Office Suite & Adobe Creative Cloud Team player with excellent communication skills PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Working knowledge of digital photography
